Surprise! You Get a Calendar!

(If you are an AAPL member!)

Today I got a huge, flat envelope in the mail from the AAPL, and I couldn’t imagine what they could be sending me.  After I got into it I found a sweet calendar and the always anticipated November / December edition of Landman magazine!  They did a great job not only including all the scheduled educational events on the calendar, but also adding a fair amount of extra information on the ‘top’ of the calendar pages.  It looks like this calendar is replacing the typically mailed out 2012 Annual Report.

It’s nice to get a little something extra when you aren’t expecting it, and this calendar will look really great on my office wall.

On the top of calendar pages they have all the information usually in the annual report such as: the obligatory update of all the AAPL has done in the past year, a financial review of income and expenses, a membership update, compiled compensation survey information, a list of the AAPL publications that are available, an update on NAPE operations and much more!

One thing I learned from flipping through the calendar is that the AAPL membership grew from 12,500 in 2011 to 17,693 in 2012.  That’s a great testament to the work of the local association and the AAPL leadership in encouraging new landmen in the profession to join the ranks!

Let us know in the comments below if you’ve received your calendar yet and what you think about it!
