Fracknation – For Us By Them

Unfortunately I missed the television premiere of the documentary, but I’ve been hearing about it all over the social media channels.  If you have been living under a rock, FrackNation is a documentary by journalist Phelim McAleer to provide “the rest of the story” (as Paul Harvey would put it) to the GASLAND documentary aired by HBO about 2 1/2 years ago.

FrackNation was funded completely by donations through Kickstarter.  It was funded by 3,305 backers who donated $212,265 in total, I even threw in a few bucks.  In addition, no donations made by oil and gas executives or companies were accepted.

Kickstarter is a funding platform for creative projects. Everything from films, games, and music to art, design, and technology. Kickstarter is full of ambitious, innovative, and imaginative projects that are brought to life through the direct support of others.  -Kickstarter.com

I recently read a review by Keith Mauck over on GoMarcellusShale.com: My Response to FrackNation: Balls in your court Gasland.  Keith provided a great review and I encourage you to check it out.

If you’re like me, and missed the premiere you’ll have two more chances to catch it on AXS TV — which is a small cable channel.  If you’d like to check if AXS is available in your area you can visit their site.  The showtimes are:

January 26, 2012 – 12:00 PM EST

February 2, 2012 – 10 AM EST

You can also purchase the DVD over at FrackNation’s website.
